Guess who’s back, back againnnnn!
As you guys have probably noticed, I’ve been quite absent from all of my social media over the summer. I had this thing called life come and hit me like a truck! It’s been a stressful and manic 5 months or so and my god did the stress begin to show on my skin. Thankfully things are slowly getting back to some form of normality and the universe was definitely listening to me because back in July I was kindly sent some skincare from the Beyl team prior to its release in the Selfridges.
Nowwwww, I’m always skeptical about new brands but there were few things that persuaded me to give the Beyl range a chance. Firstly, if its good enough for Selfridges then it’s defo good enough for me! Secondly the ingredients packed into the entire range are fancy af! Thirdly the packaging is crazy luxurious.
As I said, I’ve been using the full range since July, so I’ve given them a lengthy test-drive. Also the fact that I’m using the full range after nearly 3 months says a lot, I honestly can’t remember the last time a range was THAT good. I’m going to talk you through each product in the range and what I liked and disliked about each one to give you the full low-down.
PURIFY & REFRESH CLEANSING GEL
Kicking it off with the cleanser. Quite possibly my favourite product in the range. It’s a rich gel that lathers up- it legit feels like liquid silk and don’t even get me started on the fragrance. Packed with Vitamin C, you’ll be protected from damage against free-radicals which can otherwise damage your skin and cause skin ageing. Not only that but Vitamin C is great for evening out your skin town and can help lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation. The cleanser also contains micro-algae, which might sound like something you wouldn’t want to put on your face, but after reading this you will. It has a prebiotic effect on bacterias that can cause skin break outs, soothes the skin with its anti-inflammatory effects and most importantly it helps reduce sebum meaning your oily skin will be kept at bay.
Just overall I found it helped make my skin feel a lot more smoother and more alive. I found during the lockdown period my skin became quite dull and it was after a week of using Beyl that my skin was back to its old self again.
CLIMA-ADAPTIVE, ANTI-POLLUTION MOISTURISER
Again we have another solid product. You may have watched my youtube video where I went for a chemical peel (click here if you haven’t seen it yet). In that video myself and Poppy spoke about the damage of blue-light to the skin. The blue light comes from the sun as well as devices like laptops and mobile phones. Since then I’ve been really conscious of protecting my skin against blue light so have been using SPF daily. The Clima-adaptive, Anti-pollution moisturiser contains cocoa seed extract which actually helps combat the stress that blue-light puts on our skin.
There’s also jojoba and beeswax which is great for helping your skin become more radiant and firm.
Just like the cleanser I feel like my skin became more alive and smooth in texture.
The only negative I have is that it doesn’t contain SPF which for me is a big factor. I found that I started to use a different moisturiser that contained SPF during the day and then the Clima-adaptive, Anti-pollution moisturiser at night-time.
FIRM & REVITALISE EYE CREAM
Last but by no means least, the Firm and Revitalise eye cream! This does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s got quite a nice thick and nourishing consistency but thankfully it takes little effort to work and absorb into the under-eye area. Like all products in the range, Vitamin C is a key ingredient which I think is vital in an eye-cream because its what will help your dark circles disappear and appear brighter meaning you’re going to look like you had a solid nights sleep even if you were up until 2am watching the most obscure youtube videos.
If you’re on the lookout for new skincare then definitely give Beyl a go! I’d say the cleanser is definitely the stand-out product within the range with the eye cream being a close second. I’m just hoping they release a moisturiser with SPF in the future because when they do, best believe it’s going to be a game changer.
If any of you decide to invest in Beyl products then be sure to keep me posted on how you get on with them.
