With the start of a new year, I think it’s fair to say that we’re all out here trying to make this our year. A new year is the perfect excuse for a fresh start. A clean slate. Whether your goal is to find a new job, reach a new fitness goal or start reading more, we all tend to mix things up a bit in the hope of becoming the best version of ourselves.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that taking better care of themselves is their new years resolution and I figured I’d give you a nudge in the right direction, should you be looking to take better care of your skin. Last month I turned 25 and several people told me I better start a proper skincare regime to stop the ageing process ASAP. Now I’m not sure whether or not they were being serious, but they made a fair point.

To me, my skin is almost an ‘investment’. Now I use the term investment loosely because I don’t mean it in monetary terms. What I mean is that the better you look after your skin now, the better condition it’ll be in 20 years from now, opposed to if you didn’t use any skincare products within that time. Having said that don’t think that the most expensive products are best products for your skin. Sometimes the cheaper products are better than the expensive ones, and this is what I’ve found to be the case with the skincare products from MMUK that I’ve been using!

One of the first places ageing tends to show is under the eyes. Your under eye area is really sensitive and along with this, things such as dehydration show quickly in this area.

Everyone can always tell when I’m tired because I get the BIGGEST under eye bags! It’s a huge tell-tale sign of when I’ve had a late night, so I decided to give this a go. I liked the idea of this because it works as a serum for your face and under-eye area, so meant I didn’t need two individual products, saving me time in the mornings when I’m running late as well as meaning I haven’t had to spend double the money on two separate products.

It’s packed with loads of extracts such as cucumber, aloe vera and (my favourite) glycerine, so it really soothes the area as well as prevents any inflammation. Also it’s really bloody light on the skin so you don’t even notice it’s there!

I’ve found it really helps my skin look brighter and more alive. I used to get dull skin during the winter months but this has really helped to pack moisture and life in to my face. My eyes look more hydrated and they look less ‘creased’.

It works out being a lot cheaper than market favourites such as the Kiehls midnight recovery and you could probably buy a lifetime supply of the MMUK serum for the price of one bottle of a Sunday Riley serum.

40ml, £30

Lord did this exceed all my expectations. The fact that this has hyaluronic acid in it meant I was sold straight away. Having oily skin did mean that I was a bit apprehensive when I read that it was all about packing your skin with moisture. But it’s definitely surprised me.

The moisturiser contains Vitamin E which is anti-ageing, shea butter and wild yam room extract so I knew it would be really moisturising but I also thought it would make my oils kin worse. Somehow it doesn’t, I have no idea how, but I’m not mad about it.

It’s nourishing on the skin and has made my skin feel a lot smoother, however I haven’t experienced any extra oilyness or any more blackheads/ spots that some hydrating moisturisers can cause.

I started using this every other day because I was worried that it might make my skin oily by now I use it twice a day, every day. I would say that a little bit of product really does go a long way so it’s going to last you for months!

50ml, £35

I’ve really been loving trying out skincare from MMUK over the past 9 months! Their products are really good value for money and hit other well known brands out of the park. Also their packaging is better than any other brand I’ve used (lol) people always comment and ask about the products when they see them in my room.
