MONROE LONDON GROOMING : AN HONEST REVIEW

What’s up yallll! I’m going to try and make this a snappy post because I’m sat at my desk smelting and there’s two tubs of halo top ice cream in the freezer waiting to get devoured!

So I’ve been using the grooming range from Monroe London for about two months now and thought it was about time I gave my verdict on it- especially after all the DM’s I got about it after my instagram post.

As soon as I opened the PR packaging I was instantly impressed. It was probably the boujiest parcel I’ve ever received the packaging of the products are in a league of their own. They feel and look expensive, which to me meant if they’ve put this much effort in to the packaging then they must have done the same to the products themselves, right?

Hair & Body Wash

Bodywash.jpgFirst up we have the hair and body wash, which undeniably made me cringe a bit because I’m not about that 2in1 life. Wait. I just clocked I’ve definitely been using this on both my hair and my body LOL.

I’m not sure if I’ve been doing that because it smells so good or because it’s been making my hair and skin feel really soft but either way I aint mad about it!

It contains a whole load of active ingredients such at vitamin B5, which is really good for hair growth, ginger, which has healing properties and even bamboo, which is great for anti-aging.

Now I’m hardly busy at the minute being on summer holidays from uni, but I think it’s the perfect product for any busy, modern man and even better is that it makes you smell like a true gentleman, in fact it smells quite similar to Givenchy Gentleman.

£20, 500ml

Cleanse & Shave Solution

Now I was a bit confused when I first tried this out, was it a cleanser, was it a shaving gel? Well I guess I should have read the label on the bottle properly because it clearly says cleanse AND shave solution.

I started using my previous cleanser as a shaving gel too and found that my skin was less irritated compared to when using a shaving foam and the same goes for this.

I’ve found I get a really nice, close shave and also my shaving blade glides across my face really smoothly so I haven’t had to keep going over the same patch of skin two or three times to get rid of all the hairs.

In terms of using it as a cleanser I’ve found it makes my skin feel really clean and smooth without stripping my face of its natural oils. Also the smell of this is incredibleeeee. It has citrus and mint extracts so it makes me feel really awake when I use it in the early mornings. It leaves my skin feeling and looking really refreshed and energised, which I’m guessing is down to the antioxidants.

£30, 100ml

Moisturiser & Shave Balm

When I first started using this I was only applying it to the areas where I had shaved- however I quickly realised it was making my skin feel really smooth and made me look more alive, it started making me look more radiant. I then started applying it all over my face and neck and noticed it was making my skin less oily, I had fewer breakouts and my skin felt as smooth as the cream cheese on the bagel I had for breakfast.

The great thing about this is that it has SPF20 and we all know how much I’ve gotten in to my SPF’s the past few months!

Just like all Monroe’s products, it has a host of active ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid which is great for keeping the moisture in the skin, vitamin oil, jojoba oil and chamomile.

50ml, £35

Overall I can’t recommend these products enough- especially if you’re always on the go because it halves the amount of products you need to carry around with you. They look great in your bathroom cabinet, they’re effective and whilst they’re pricier than your normal loreal or nivea products you can really tell the difference. Also as you have to use half the products you’re essentially getting more for your money.

I’m really looking forward to trying more from Monroe! I really want to try their caffeine eye gel and pore minimiser to see what differences they could make
